So bookmark this page for the school year, and be sure to check back for updates.

As well as updating this page, I will send out emails when it is getting close to the labs.  If you email me (musicalmom@cebridge.net) I will get you on the email list.

If you are new to BBE, or have never volunteered for the science lab before, this is a program where parents  get to come into the school, and explore science with their kids.  We have labs once or twice every month on Friday morning from 8:00-11:00.  You don't have to be a scientist to volunteer (they're only first graders), and you are free to come to as many or as few labs as you are able to, and for as long as you are able to (if you cannot stay the entire 3 hours, that is fine - we'll take whatever we can get!).

Divide and Conquer!
This year I'm working and will not be able to organize all of the labs myself, so I'm going to need your help!  I think the easiest way to do this, is if everyone could take charge of one or two of the labs.  This would include reading through what the lab has been in previous years, (or coming up with your own ideas) and getting the supplies organized and ready to go for everyone (PTA will reimburse ~ $50/lab for supplies that you need).  First come first served! Choose which topic/s you would be interested in being in charge of the lab for!! I'll update the above schedule with first names of those who sign up, and will post your lab plan on this blog when you send it to me.

Please let me know if you have any questions.  I look forward to seeing you all again, I hope you had a good summer!
Thanks!
Jamie Turner
2013-2014 1st grade science lab coordinator
